Bonus Mini-Development Log! Michi continues his work on the updated map, Nick gives an update on the latest advertising campaign, and Fabian tackles a suggestion.

After being on holiday for so long, it is wonderful to get back into the swing of things! Work is ongoing with the game map changes. An issue that new players have is being able to visualize how to decide what planets are viable. After some discussion with Fabian, we came up with the following:

Let me know what you guys think! Other than iterating on the above, I’ve been helping Fabian debug some issues with the suggestion he’s tackling and it’s a tough one, especially when APEX won’t let me log into the test server and we’re still trying to debug why.

Nick

Kysen released a great video about getting started with ProsperousUniverse. Take a look!

In other news, I noticed in the discord that many of you are former EVE players so I asked around and got a hold of a somewhat famous EVE player that goes by Mittani. After a few discussions, we’re going to be offering Mittani and anyone in his corporation “Goonswarm” 3 months of PRO. Mittani believes he will be able to reach upwards of 10000 EVE users that would be interested in Prosperous Universe, so if you see new players joining make sure to help them out!

After browsing through all the great suggestions you guys provided, one stood out to me. This was sent by bobemor:

Right now, usernames don’t follow any sort of convention and it’s extremely confusing.
My proposal is simple:

  1. Usernames must start with a capital letter.
  2. Usernames must not be the name of a food
  3. Usernames cannot have punctuation in them.

After I finished up my expanding base area task, I moved onto this. My initial implementation is currently live on the test server, however, there are still a few issues where some users are unable to log in for some reason. Martin and Michi have been helping me investigate the issue. Nonetheless, expect this change to be live with the next APEX release.

As always: we’d love to hear what you think: join us on Discord or the forums!

Happy trading!
